Refugee Volunteer Programme Team Leader
- ​Permanent Part-time 35 hours a week.
As part of the largest humanitarian aid organisation in the world, New Zealand Red Cross plays a vital role in providing assistance to vulnerable people in New Zealand and overseas. New Zealand Red Cross is an organisation with 14,500 volunteers and 500 staff.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic people leader to oversee the direction and growth of the local volunteer programme in Nelson and ensure that volunteer support to former refugees is safe and effective.
Working closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and the Humanitarian Programme Coordinator you will actively promote the work of Red Cross and ultimately develop volunteering within Red Cross to ensure there are sufficient numbers of well trained and supported volunteers to support the work Red Cross undertake in the Refugee Program.
In this role you will:
- Recruit, train and support volunteers
- Provide direct line management and leadership to volunteer team staff
- Manage the quality and development of the volunteer programme including budgetary and reporting requirements
- Contribute to the national volunteer team working teams
- Contribute to public awareness, networking and partnership opportunities

- Experience as a team leader with staff management
- Experience working/supporting volunteers
- Experience in adult education
