We have a position for a Medical Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including; processing specimens, dispatch of specimens to other labs and phlebotomy.
You will be a qualified Specimen Services and/or Phlebotomy Technician with previous experience, able to work flexible hours including availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
We would also consider an individual with the following background and personal attributes willing to work towards becoming qualified.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Previous experience working in the Healthcare sector, i.e. hospital, medical centre, rest home or other patient contact is desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable but not essential
- Good empathy with patients and open to collecting blood and handling contained specimens, i.e. human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc
You must have excellent communication skills, a high standard of presentation, with a professional and courteous manner and a current and full drivers licence.
The hours are 8 hours per day between 7.00am and 9.00pm, Monday to Friday with some weekend work.
