Anatomical Pathologist - Permanent Full Time - Hawke's Bay
We are seeking an Anatomical Pathologist to be part of our network of Pathologists working in our community and hospital laboratories throughout New Zealand. Each Pathologist works as part of a team providing clinical delivery and service excellence through high-quality diagnostic services to our client and patients.
SCL Hawke's Bay is part of Southern Community Laboratories, a division of Healthscope that has provided doctors and patients in New Zealand with pathology services since 1960. We are the largest provider of Pathology services in New Zealand and have laboratories throughout New Zealand.
Hawke's Bay is a region on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. It's known for its award-winning food and wine, outstanding architecture, and temperate climate. Hawke's Bay is surrounded by magnificent landscapes, offers many outdoor pursuits and is 2-3 hours by car from ski fields and Lake Taupo.
The Hawke's Bay laboratory is located at Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital, in a new purpose-built histology laboratory, and provides both hospital and community pathology services to the greater Hawke's Bay region, serving a population of approximately 164,000.
We are seeking an experienced Anatomic Pathologist to be the 4th full-time pathologist in our group. Competency in cut up and diagnosis of a broad range of tissue types is essential and approximately 50% of the work is dermatopathology, with a high percentage of pigmented skin lesions.
You will need to hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or a similar recognised postgraduate qualification and be eligible for registration as a Specialist Pathologist by the Medical Council of New Zealand.
